Education Programs and Policy Consultant:
Beto D. Gonzalez has over 25 years of experience in the education sector including 16 years in administrative leadership. Currently serving as superintendent of schools and former college/university dean, he is a seasoned education programs and policy consultant. His leadership and skills sets stem from experiences in serving in several post-secondary settings. He served as Dean/Head of School of Education at Texas A&M- San Antonio; Dean of Students and Student Services at Bakersfield College and a lecturer and instructor at the Graduate School of Education at Fresno Pacific University.
Local And National Motivational - Keynote Speaker:
Beto D. Gonzalez has received broad recognition for his keynote speeches and has addressed topics such as effective leadership and policy; youth leadership development; dropout prevention strategies that work; workforce development and solutions; economic freedom through education and overcoming adversity in public service.
Gonzalez has also contributed to publications centered on educational reform topics, paths to degree completion from high school, and the meaning of schooling. He has shared his expertise on several state and national platforms such as the National Dropout Prevention Conference, the Mississippi Association of Public Educator State Seminar, the District Administration Leadership Institute’s – National Superintendents Conference; Cincinnati Public Schools Leadership Forum; New Mexico National Business Conference and many others.
Service Leadership Platforms:
Beto Gonzalez has served on various leadership platforms as Special Assistant in the Office of Public Affairs at the US Department of Labor. He later served as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education at the US Department of Education. Gonzalez also served on the Advisory Board of the Texas Institute for Education Reform, whose mission intended for every child in Texas to graduate from high school fully prepared for higher education and the 21st century workplace as well as responsible citizenship.
Gonzalez believes this can be achieved through higher standards for teaching and learning; higher standards for academic and financial accountability; better assessments; more effective educators; intensive efforts to attack the reading crisis; and deregulation, innovation, and competition. As Superintendent, Gonzalez continues to serve and exert all efforts towards the achievement of these goals.

Throughout his career, Gonzalez has designed and implemented programs while leading personnel to ensure that students from all walks of life are equipped with the skills necessary to be successful in post-secondary education, the workforce, and life. He has a Bachelor's degree in English and Spanish and a Master's degree in educational administration from California State University at Bakersfield. He has also completed Doctoral coursework in educational leadership at the University of California at Los Angeles.
